The Royal Rumble 2025 Review

Women's Royal Rumble 8.3/10 B

Nikki Bella Roxanne

The Women's rumble was fun. The women's Rumble had the best rumble move of the night. Zelina Vega brought this achievement home by hitting Jordynne Grace with a gnarly sunset flip off the top rope. The Women's Rumble had three astonishing surprises with Jordynne Grace, Nikki Bella, and Trish Stratus. Nikki Bella was the best surprise of the night and helped infuse some energy into the match's finish.

Charlotte Flair Royal Rumble

The Women's Rumble also had great showings from the next generation of women like Giulia, Vaquer, and Roxanne Perez, who nearly won and set a new record for time in the Rumble. However, the women's rumble did have a very predictable winner, which made the match good, not great, even though Charlotte is probably the right winner.

Motor City Machine Guns vs. DIY Tag Team Championships 7.5/10 C

Kip Sabian jumps

This match was a sacrifice. There was just no way a match like this could keep the energy going from a Royal Rumble match. The pacing of the match was terrible. The falls happened way too fast. There were moments where the cool moves they were doing caused mild intrigue, but this belonged on SmackDown, not the Royal Rumble. In addition to poor placement, the ending of the match made zero sense. The Street Profits made DIY tag team champions to beat them for the titles and get revenge on them for taking them out. I'm sorry, but getting revenge by helping your rival win a title will always be stupid.

Kevin Owens vs. Cody Rhodes 9/10 A-

Fisherman suplex ladder

This match was hard-hitting. It started a little slow, holding it back a bit, but once the match ramped up, it did the feud justice. Cody and KO had a personal issue. Kevin felt like Cody betrayed him by working with someone who tried to end his career, so he tried to end Cody's. Cody met him with the proper energy in this match.

Cody Rhodes slams

First and foremost, Cody and Kevin just went out of their way to do uncommon ladder spots, like Kevin Owens slamming Cody through the straps that hold the ladder together. Also, Cody and Kevin both tried to kill each other. Kevin hit a Fisherman Suplex off the top rope into a propped-up ladder, and if the match had ended right there, I would have understood. It was nasty. Cody took it up a notch at the end of the match when he Alabama Slammed Kevin Owens off the announce table and into a propped-up ladder. Kevin's body made such a sickening thud, and he was left on the ground on his head, which had been slammed through the ladder.

Sami watches cody

Also, Sami didn't help Kevin Owens, but he came out and watched the whole thing. It feels like Sami is just standing there as Cody destroys Kevin, and winning the match will have consequences.

The Men's Royal Rumble 9/10 A-

Gable ankle lock

The Royal Rumble was supposed to be stacked. However, there were two rumbles. The first 15 or so weren't so stacked, and the second half was the rumble we all thought we were getting. There were some big omissions in the Rumble. There was no New Day, Wyatt 6, Karrion Kross, or even Solo Sikoa.

Seth Rollins Stomps Reigns

However, The Rumble did have Joe Hendry, which was its most significant surprise entrant but was still a big deal. Also, the last ten in the Royal Rumble were utterly enthralling. It felt like it was anyone's game. Then there was Seth going ballistic and attacking Roman Reigns and CM Punk.

John Cena Jey Uso

Logan Paul was surprisingly great in the rumble, entering last and doing the Kofi moment of the night when he landed on the announce table and jumped back in from the barricade. He also eliminated CM Punk and AJ Styles. However, John Cena and Jey Uso had fans sitting at the edge of their seat as they whirled around, barely holding on to the ropes outside before Jey shocked the world and eliminated John Cena. Jey is one of three big underdogs, including Rey and Chris Benoit, who have won the Royal Rumble. This is a historic win.

The Royal Rumble Final Grade 8.45/10 B

Cody Rhodes Wins

The Royal Rumble 2025 Review. This Royal Rumble delivered a lot of good and a few moments of greatness. The Royal Rumble winners were well-picked. The Title match was delivered, but the tag match dragged the PPV down a bit, and there could have been a few more surprise appearances.
