10. Colts
Everyone hated the Colts vs. Broncos game on Thursday Night Football Week 5. However, the Colts getting a gritty win over the Broncos in overtime has changed this team. The Colts believe in themselves more, and they are playing better. Matt Ryan is finding more receivers in the passing game, and he is getting rid of the ball if it's not there instead of trying to make something happen and causing a turnover. Also, the emergence of Alec Pierce has made this offense even more deadly because teams can't just focus on Michael Pittman.
9. Titans
The Titans are 5/6 in close games this year. They aren't the best team in the league or the AFC, but they are tough. If they can hang in there with their opponents, they will come out on top. Nobody is really talking about the Titans, but they are just as alive as any AFC South team, and Derrick Henry is getting better week after week.
8. Chargers
The Chargers have not been impressive thus far. They already came into the game with the Broncos hurt, and now their kicker is injured. Also, the Chargers going into overtime with the Broncos and winning because of a muffed punt doesn't inspire confidence. The Chargers beat a team that was struggling even worse than them. The Chargers still have the pieces to activate and become better than they are now. But right now, they are a team in waiting. How long will the wait be? I don't know.
7. Jets
The Jets are on the rise. The team is stacked, and they have arrived. They beat the Steelers and they beat the Packers. They have the defense to slow down any offense and the offense to keep up with anybody. Breece Hall, specifically, has broken out. He makes the Jets offense dynamic and gives the Jets a chance to control the clock. The only possible weakness is Zach Wilson. Zach is a better QB than he was last year, but is he good enough? That remains a mystery so far. Sooner or later, we will find out. On that day, we will know the Jets ceiling.
6. Cowboys
The Cowboys defense has been really good. They couldn't stop Philly when they needed to, but they still had moments in that game. Cooper Rush wasn't bad either. Many people want to close the door on Cooper and pretend he was horrible all along because he lost to the Eagles and threw three interceptions. However, two of those interceptions weren't his fault and the Eagles have beat every team they have faced. Cooper Rush also led the offense to seventeen unanswered points. The Cowboys almost came back against the Eagles. Now, we know the Cowboys aren't better than the Eagles, but they are still one of the best teams in the league.
5. Chiefs
The Chiefs lost to the Bills and have fallen behind them in the AFC. However, the Chiefs are the best 4-2 team in the league, and they still deserve to be top five in the league. The Chiefs could hang in with the Bills, and they were a few mistakes away from coming out on top. The Chiefs receiving core, which is their biggest weakness, is getting better. They will be Super Bowl contenders.
4. Vikings
The Vikings are running away with the NFC North. They haven't had super impressive wins, and there are still questions about the Vikings head coach, but they are winning. Hopefully, the Vikings are getting better because they struggled with an injured Dolphins team a lot more than they should have.
3. Giants
The Giants can't be doubted anymore. They are for real. The Giants beat the Ravens and cemented themselves as a playoff team. The Giants keep finding ways to win, and it doesn't feel like a fluke. The Giants actually have quite a few injuries on offense so, if anything, they have the potential to get better. The Giants remind me a lot of the Patriots. They aren't the most talented team, but they play smart and find ways to win.
2. Bills
The Bills beat the Chiefs and proved they are the best team in the AFC. I know the Bills beat the Chiefs last year and then lost to them in the playoffs, but that will not be the case this year. First off, this is a better Bills team than last year. The Bills have been consistent, and they aren't taking random losses like last year. They are better on offense and defense, and the AFC will run through Buffalo this year.
1. Eagles
Who else could it be? The Eagles are the only undefeated team in the league. The Eagles were the only team that was able to remain perfect through six weeks. They handled the Cowboys and will do the same thing when they play Dak Prescott. They have one of the best defenses in the league and one of the most explosive offenses. The Eagles are the unquestioned best team in the league.
